Dog Care
A little boy was roughhousing with his dog. His mother said to him,

"Now, Peter, I know you love Granger, but you're loving him too much. How would you feel if someone huge picked you up and squeezed you so hard you couldn't breathe?"

The boy thought a moment and then said, "I guess I'd feel like it was my birthday and Aunt Doreen was here!"
If your dog has been in a traffic accident or otherwise hurt, use a coat or a blanket to carefully move him to safety. As he is likely in a lot of pain and may bite you, muzzle him with a scarf or bandage. Avoid touching injuries or fractured limbs and try to get someone to help you lift him. Once you have him in a sling, lift him gently to a car and go to the closest veterinarian immediately.
"I've seen a look in dogs' eyes, a quickly vanishing look of amazed contempt, and I am convinced that basically dogs think humans are nuts."
